He is the current Chairman of BOI Investment and Trust Company Limited.
Bayo Oyewole currently serves as Chairman of the Bank of Industry Investment and Trust Company Limited (BOI-ITC).
The Founder and CEO of BayZx Global Strategic Solutions, a Washington-based global management consulting firm, Mr. Oyewole has over 40 years of international development experience, including at the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the African Development Bank (AfDB).
At the World Bank, Mr. Oyewole served as Senior Adviser to the Executive Director for Africa, representing 22 African countries on the World Bank’s Board of Directors and on several Board committees. At IFC, Mr. Oyewole served as a PPP Specialist, structuring and implementing PPPs to finance infrastructure services in African countries. Prior to this, he managed IFC’s trust funds and partnerships with the international donor community for financing IFC’s upstream advisory services, including bilateral donors, foundations, and corporate philanthropy.
In 2014 Mr. Oyewole was part of a small team that established the World Bank’s US$100 million Global Infrastructure Facility (GIF) which funds infrastructure public private partnerships (PPP) in emerging markets and developing economies around the world. He managed the GIF’s partnership network of Advisory Partners comprised of pension funds, insurers, asset managers, and investment and commercial banks which, together, represent more than US$18 trillion in assets under management.
Since establishing BayZx solutions in 2018, Mr. Oyewole’s consulting assignments have included working with the African Development Bank (AfDB) to implement a PPP Strategic Framework, and with the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) where he leads research and advocacy on the Global Financial Architecture.
Mr. Oyewole serves on the Board of the Music Centre at Strathmore and the Strathmore Foundation in Bethesda, MD, USA, where he chairs the
Governance, Finance, and Executive Committees. He is also Board member and President Emeritus of the King’s College Old Boys’ Association of North America and Ambassador for the Teach for Nigeria Foundation.
Mr. Oyewole holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics (Hons.) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and an MBA from the University of Maryland, College Park. He has also participated in training at Harvard University, Columbia University, and the Frankfurt School of Management.
